Elizabeth Horowitz

Elizabeth Horowitz was born in 1950 in Paterson, NJ. As a child she developed a fondness for art and took classes at the Museum of Modern Art in NYC .Visiting her grandfather`s silk/textile factory in Paterson, she developed an eye and
appreciation for color.

In her teenage years she attended classes at the Art Student`s League, NYC. Graduating as an Art Major from Syracuse University, she received honors in design.
Through Syracuse University, she studied in Florence, Italy on a semester abroad program. There she gained an understanding of Art History and the fundamentals of Classic Art.

These fundamental principles remain the starting point
for all her watercolors as her goal is to produce quality art that will pass the test of time. Color and Light are two themes that run through all her watercolors as well as a love for architectureand water.

Horowitz is an accomplished artist with many awards and solo shows. Her work is collected today by private collectors and corporations such as Cosmair-Lancome, Merck and State Farm Insurance. A member of the NY Society of
Illustrators, and many Watercolor Societies, Horowitz currently runs her own business, as well as painting commissioned pieces.
